Abstract
This study investigates the efficacy of yoga as a globally applicable intervention to enhance psychological well-being with its impact across language groups. As stress disorders are highly prevalent and culturally diverse in world populations, it is pertinent to test the potential of yoga to bridge language and cultural divides for promoting mental health benefits. Employing a mixed-methods research design integrating quantitative surveys and qualitative participant interviews from a diversity of primary language backgrounds, this research elucidates how yoga’s integrative mind-body awareness, controlled breathing, and meditation practices operate to reduce anxiety, improve mood, and enhance overall psychological resilience. Results indicate that yoga consistently improves psychological well-being regardless of the native language or culture of the participants, suggesting that yoga may be an effective low-cost and accessible mental health intervention in multicultural populations.
